Rome, Italy to Barcelona, Spain

Hey everyone!

So I have a lot to write about regarding whats happened the past two weeks. This past week was the first long study tour week, and since I don’t have my long tour with positive psychology until later on in the semester, I got to travel with friends πŸ™‚ For those of you who might not know, a long study tour is essentially a time that is blocked out during the semester for traveling purposes. There are two long study tours, and for one of these tours you go to a different country with your core course! For instance, I will be going to Athens, Greece soon! For the other tour, you are free to travel as you wish πŸ™‚ For more information on long study tours at DIS, see the link below!

During my free travel week, I decided to travel to Rome, Italy and Barcelona, Spain. All I can say is that I am so grateful to have gotten the opportunity to experience such amazing and unique cultures. I got to see so many historical and famous cultural sites that I have only heard about from others during my childhood. For instance, In Rome, we went to the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, a Catacomb in the countryside, Art Museums, The Vatican, The Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica.

During my time in Rome, I made sure to capture all of these beautiful moments. The pictures below include almost everything I got to experience during my time in Italy πŸ™‚

After Italy, we then made our way to Barcelona, Spain, and I was just as in awe at the sites that I got to experience. The girls and I went to Park Guell, Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, a Spanish food market, and La Pedrera Casa Mila! Everything was absolutely beautiful, and I specifically loved park quell and Sagrada Familia because of their unique structures! Park Guell is a site where there are gardens, flowers, and wildlife nearly everywhere, and it was truly something to see. Sagrada Familia was a church that was built in such a distinct way that included making the inside look like the canopy of trees in the jungle. It was amazing, and I am so grateful I got to see so many of Spain’s historical spaces. Ive included some pictures below of my experiences in Spain!

Having a week off to travel throughout Europe has been such an amazing experience. Being apart of DIS in Sweden is an amazing opportunity to truly experience different cultures and travel throughout Europe. So far in my journey abroad, I have been to Paris, Sweden, Finland, Italy, and Spain. I am really looking forward to the next four countries I will be going to, which include Greece, Belgium, Amsterdam, and Poland. When I do I will be sure to blog about them πŸ™‚

Bye for now!! πŸ€—πŸ’–
